Our day started with lunch at a Front Street Brewery where they brew
their own beer within view of the customers.. they had beautiful old
cooper vats where the beer was brewed. A little cute story.. as we
drove down Front Street trying to find a place to park, my
daughter-in-law spotted her parents car, deciding we would like to
invite them to join us for lunch, she called them on her cell phone,
just as we got in front of the restaurant, her father answered the
phone. He was standing beside the very building we was about to
walk into. It seems Sonya's parents was inside eating lunch when
the phone rang and because of the noise inside he decided to step out so
he could hear the caller.. So instead of asking them to join us for
lunch we joined them.
After lunch Bill, Jason, Sonya and I walked to the middle of
downtown. All those old buildings and stores are wonderful.
We stopped at what I guess would be called the town square or
round-about that on one end was the water and the other looked straight
into the Historic House are. There was a Horse Carriage tour of
those houses and we decided to take it. I'm glad we did, the
houses are beautiful.. Most have been restored while others are in
different stages of restoration to authentic, historical details.
Below are photos of our day in this beautiful area. I hope you
enjoy them as much as we did. |
